What matters under the boards
Most decking problems start below the surface. We build on a firm, level base with a weed-control membrane, use a properly spaced joist frame and leave airflow beneath so the timber can dry out.
- Joists at the right spacing for the boards used
- Boards fixed neatly with consistent gaps for drainage and movement
- Steps, edging and trims for a clean finish
- Raised decks with balustrades built to suit the height
- Decks designed to match your patio, fencing and planting
Timber or composite
Treated timber
A good value, natural choice that is treated for outdoor use and can be stained or oiled.
Hardwood
Dense and long lasting, with a premium look.
Composite
Low maintenance boards that do not need oiling or staining.
Decks raised more than 30 cm above the ground normally need planning permission, so we check this when we quote.
